  • Do I need both a will and a trust?

    Not everyone does a will is essential for everyone, but a trust adds privacy, avoids probate, and can help manage assets for loved ones. We’ll talk through your situation and explain what’s right for your family.

  • What’s included in Berdan Law’s flat-fee estate planning package?

    A will-based plan includes a custom will with a specific property gifts memorandum, durable power of attorney, and advance medical directive (living will and healthcare power of attorney), and a transfer on death deed to keep your home out of probate plus unlimited guidance and notary/witness support. A trust-based plan includes essentially the same things, plus your revocable living trust, trust certificate, assignment of assets into trust, and additional ancillary documents.

  • How much does estate planning cost?

    We offer flat fees for every package, so you know the price up front. No hourly billing, no surprise add-ons, all county fees included. Your final pricing will be given at the free consultation meeting once we know the scope of your plan, but packages for individuals tend to be $2,500 to $3,500, and packages for married couples tend to be $3,000 to $4,500.

  • Is Berdan Law right for me if I have a blended family or unique situation?

    Absolutely. We handle complex family structures with personalized plans, so you get documents that fit your real life.

  • Do you offer any discounts?

    Yes! As a former elementary school teacher, Michael offers 10% off for teachers. 10% off is also offered to veterans, first responders, and nurses. Additionally, it is important to us that legal services be accessible to everyday people in our community, despite financial challenges.
